Independent garages and tyre dealers can now demonstrate their support for tyre safety and the welfare of their customers by becoming an official TyreSafe tyre safety champion.

TyreSafe is the new name for the Tyre Industry Council, a not for profit non commercial organisation set up 16 years ago with the responsibility of raising the awareness of the importance of the dangers of defective and worn tyres.
TyreSafe supports the EU Road Safety Charter and the UK DfT Think! Campaign. In 2001 the Tyre Industry Council received the coveted Prince Michael International Road Safety Award for their contribution to reducing the number of defective tyres on the road.
